Hej,

jeg sidder her og hører lige pludselig Enigma med Return to innocence i radioen, det er en dejlig nostalgisk sang!

Ang. Enya - Adiemus, så er det ikke Enya, der synger den, bare en generel misforståelse fra ignorante fjolser.

First, Adiemus, like any of the tracks on the Adiemus albums, are not in any language. The 'lyrics' are made from syllables and 'words' invented by Karl Jenkins, the composer. They are specifically designed to not distract attention from the pitch and timbre of the voice - it's supposed to enable the voice to act like an instrument, nothing more or less.

Enya did not write this track. Enya has never performed or recorded 'Adiemus' and it does not appear on any of her albums. The vocal artist is Miriam Stockley. The composer is a British composer called Karl Jenkins. The track did not appear on the Lord of the Rings soundtrack as is suggested by some.

Adiemus is originally the name of the album that Karl Jenkins wrote along the general theme of using the human voice merely as an instrument, with non-specific lyrics. He expanded this over further albums with Miriam Stockley providing the vocals for all except the fifth album, where the Finnish 'Adiemus Singers' were formed and recorded the vocals for the album.

Enya has nothing to do with that song. The composers are Hans Zimmer and Lisa Gerrard. Few words are Hebrew (Zimmer it's a clear Jewish name) but the rest has just no sense. So there is no translations.

from a Lisa interview about the song:

...The rest of the vocals, sung with sounds rather than in a conventional language, are an example of melismatic singing. "It's a language invented within the music, inherently, and the words mean more than I can say in English", she says. "The way I sing is not new; it's been around since the beginning of time, and it's something all children are born with. It's not unique to me, but for some reason I never lost the ability".

Det må du undskylde.. Jeg skal nok tænke over at jeg ikke kan stole på hvad folk skriver på youtube.com.. Det vidste jeg i forvejen, men det lød som om det var sandt, men jeg vil for fremtiden undersøge dette.. Jeg så faktisk Adiemus - Adiemus, men troede at det var en fejl.. :/
